South Africa – New York is committed to accurate, fair, and independent journalism covering the South African community and cultural ties in the New York area. Our editorial decisions are guided by the public interest, not by commercial considerations or outside pressure.
Editorial Independence
Our editorial content is produced independently. Advertising and sponsorship arrangements do not influence what we cover, how we cover it, or the conclusions we draw. Sponsored content, when it appears, is clearly labeled and separated from editorial material.
Accuracy and Sources
We verify information before publication using multiple sources whenever possible. When a story relies on a single source, we note that clearly. We attribute information to named sources where feasible and use anonymous sourcing only when there is a compelling reason and the information has been corroborated.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and transparently. Corrections are noted at the top or bottom of the relevant article. We do not silently alter published content.
Ethics
Our contributors are expected to avoid conflicts of interest and to disclose any relevant personal or financial interests that could affect their reporting. We do not accept gifts, payment, or other consideration from the subjects of our coverage.
