The South African Boatbuilders Export Council, SABBEX, is a National Export Council. The council is a major contributor to establishing South Africa as a globally competitive boatbuilding export country, with sustainable export growth within South Africa's Department of Trade and Industry framework.

SABBEX has implemented a strategic plan, incorporating government stakeholder to promote the boatbuilding industry via means of:

• export promotion
• export development and
• market prioritisation

SABBEX has made it a mission to penetrate as many foreign markets as possible, thus building a platform for South African boat builders to demonstrate the quality of their products, enhancing their export opportunities.
