Temporary passports, valid for one year, are issued to applicants who need to travel urgently while their permanent passports are being processed.  Applicants for temporary passports must also apply for permanent passports. 

Please be advised that temporary passports are not accepted by some countries.  It is the responsibility of the traveler to inquire with the countries to be visited before applying for a temporary passport.  The Embassy/Consulate accepts no liability in this regard.

Requirements

Application forms plus supporting documentation must be submitted in duplicate (two copies). It has been noted that some applicants submit application forms in duplicate but supporting documents (determination of citizenship, divorce decrees, marriage certificates, etc.) are still being sent without copies. Please ensure that you submit two sets of the application:  a) the original application forms and supporting documents, and b) a copy of the complete set.
