The Zenani Campaign is being launched by the Make Roads Safe campaign, the Road Safety Fund and members of the Mandela family. It is a ‘Mandela Day’ initiative for the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety.
It will aim to protect children on the roads, and reduce the numbers of child road fatalities and injuries by supporting road safety projects. It also aims to raise awareness with the ‘Zenani wristband’.
Road crashes are the number one killer of young people over 10 years old worldwide. 1,000 young people are killed on the world’s roads every day.
