Filmmaker Uga Carlini, President of Towerkop Creations, takes one of two top awards at SUSTAIN OUR AFRICA short film competition.

By cultivating awareness, showcasing inspirational stories and hosting practical tools for change, Sustain our Africa will develop awareness, engender inspiration and action through collaborative dialogue, by showcasing stories of CHANGE and case studies, demonstrating that there are solutions available as for the first time in the history of mankind we have one common cause to fight for. One cause that we all can believe in. One cause that will change us all. This cause supersedes race, colour, status, creed, religion, nation, political belief or ego. The cause is a fight for our collective survival on the only planet we can call home.

Last night saw the line up of the top ten short film finalists being showcased at the Chavonnes Battery Museum & Auditorium. Mark Coetzee, programme director of PUMAVISION /PUMA.CREATIVE and Lynette O’Tim from Tetris Events awarded the audience choice award to Uga Carlini’s GOOD PLANETS ARE HARD TO FIND. Prizes include a fisheye 1 camera from Exposure gallery as well as trip to any film festival in the world of the filmmaker’s choice sponsored by PUMAVISION/PUMA.CREATIVE.

The other judges were Leon Van der Merwe of CWFF and SAO's Brendon Bell-Roberts.
